Scott Brown is an assistant extension professor in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Missouri and the state extension agricultural economist for the University of Missouri extension. Dr. Brown has worked with the U.S. Congress over the past two decades in determining the quantitative effects of changes in dairy and livestock policies and has testified regarding dairy and livestock policy issues before the U.S. House and Senate Agriculture committees. He also works with the Missouri Legislature on the economic effects of state policy on Missouri agriculture. Dr. Brown is investigating the economic impact of the adoption of new technologies in the cattle industry that can increase high-quality cattle supplies and is working on strategies in price risk management for cattle producers. He received his Ph.D. degree in agricultural economics from the University of Missouri and his B.S degree in agricultural business from Northwest Missouri State University. Dr. Brown grew up on a diversified farm in Northwest Missouri.
