As legislative leaders responsible for developing and implementing the policies that address food production, natural resource management and rural development, you are well aware of the many challenges that your states and provinces face; challenges that cross state and even national boundaries.
That is where State Agriculture and Rural Leaders and the Legislative Agriculture Chairs Summit comes in. Since 2001, the LAC Summit has been providing a non-partisan unparalleled educational opportunity for elected state and provincial officials with an interest in agriculture and rural communities to work together, network, collaborate and create problem solving partnerships.
This is an invitation-only Summit, and all of your on-site expenses (three nights room, registration and meals) are covered by State Agriculture and Rural Leaders, a federal 501 c(3) non-profit. There are also travel scholarships for those without state or campaign funds for transportation.
The Summit includes an optional day of site visits of agricultural, food, fuel sites in the Charleston area (Friday), a full day of discussion of state issues (Saturday), and then a half day of discussion of Federal issues (Sunday) that impact the states and provinces.
For those wishing to attend virtually, there will virtual tours for you as well! Attendees will be able attend virtual information sessions while having the opportunity to interact with the speakers. There will also be networking opportunities to interact with the other virtual and in person attendees, all from your home office.
